So the rain did come and the sun is peaking through and the creek is totally dry fly fishible!
The drakes are stretched from Glenn Iron to just about Weikert.
We are also getting a nice hatch of Green Drakes up stream of Coburn from the shop up to the dam.
The creek has about 3 feet of visibility and with the green drakes on, that is plenty!
Penns has been blessed with great water conditions all year and I couldn’t be happier!
Hatches: GREEN DRAKES! March Browns and sulphurs and blue quills and blue wing olives and crane flies and little tan caddis and the beginning of the Slate drakes and………WOW!
Here is a real 20″ fish that Aston guided Chris to this week!
I just got the word that THE GREEN DRAKES HAVE BEGUN!
The report came in from Glenn Iron from last night!
And so begins another year!
Penns creek is in real good condition!
Thanks for the picture buddy!
So…..this happened on Tunnel Road last night at 6:45 pm last night! Single scout but that’s pretty cool!
Great job God!!!
The hatches been amazing this year so far! The water is low and it is very easy to get around right now. They are calling for rain in the next few days and that would be great.
The Grannoms are just past their peak and the hendricksons and quill Gordons are winding down, but we saw the first March browns last night and I think everything is just going to run together this year. I expect the sulphurs to start any day now on Spring creek and with in a week on Penns.
Mitch found these stone flies this week. One molted and one regular…..thanks bud!
Hello all and hope you are well!
The extravaganza is tomorrow, Saturday, from 9-5 with the whole store on sale and many items on clearance! Hope you can make it!
Hatches and fishing report:
The water is low and clear, especially for this time of year.
Hendricksons and quill Gordons and blue wing olives and small black caddis and midges and crane flies are all hatching and the fish were rising well today at the bridge in town.
