It has been a chilly Spring this year! We had a shot of the 70’s in April but nippy since then.

The hatches are real good:

Sulphurs, March Browns, tan and black Caddis, crane flies, BWO’s etc

Water levels and color are excellent. we are getting some rain today.

Well…..we had a great rain yesterday and I am happy to report that fish were rising today around 1 pm when I walked to the bridge. Tan Caddis emergers. They have been rising to them most days starting around noon.

The Blue Wing Olives have also been super this week. Some in the morning but strong around 4-5 pm.

Hendricksons. March Browns. Crane Flies. A few Sulphurs.

And so another round of annual hatches come and go…..

The weather has been quite neurotic, as you are all probably experiencing. When it is nice and warm out like today, the fish have been pummeling the surface! But on those 40+ degree days….it has been all subsurface.

The MARCH BROWNS started yesterday and the fish are on them!

Tan Caddis also started yesterday in earnest.

The Hendricksons are still strong and the Grannoms are waning.
