3.27.2023…Winters passing, bugs are hatching

Spring came early this year. Could not ask for nicer weather for the end of March. We could ask for more water but you can’t get everything you want.

Guided trips trips are rolling out the door and clients are walking back in with big smiles.

Hendricksons, blue winged olives,, early black stones, and midges are getting the fish going. Hard to go wrong with Hendrickson and olive nymphs.

Anglers are reporting some success with dry flies.

Our guide calendar has filled up fast. We do have at least one or two guides still available most days in April. Call the shop for availability and to book.

A big thanks to everyone who came out to the extravaganza weekend. It’s always a blast and that’s because of you! So thank you.

8.14.2022….Summer Bouquet!

We hope that you have enjoyed your summer as much as we have. The warm water program has kept us busy. On the river, you never know what you are going to find.

Summer presents a diversity of angling opportunities. From Flies to Lures, surface to subsurface, power or finesse, we’ve got you covered!

The top water bite has been hot and it’s only getting better. If you love to cast a fly, now is your time to shine.

We have been on trout water a limited amount through the summer. The early morning trips have been productive with some blue winged olive and trico action on top if you know where to look.

It is terrestrial season so make sure you have your beetles and ants with you. 1/2 day AM Guided trips are the way to go!

We’re looking forward to the cool off that fall will bring. With any luck, we’ll get some rain and water in the creeks to set us up for a killer fall! One of our favorite times of the year to be on the water. Name a prettier time of the year, we’ll wait.

6.11.2022….DRUNELLA!!!

Another drake hatch has come and gone. The Big Blue Winged Olive is on. Slate Drakes, Cahills, Suplhurs , Blue quill, Craneflies and assorted caddis to name a few others.

We’ve got some rain and cooler temps. The fish are fat and happy.

Our stretch of water at The Feathered Hook Lodge is cold and getting summer buggy! Book your summer terrestrial trip on the coolest water around!

Summer smallmouth is heating up. Poppers, crawfish and minnows galore! Get a float with our guides targeting the pound for pound, hardest fighting freshwater fish you’re gonna find. We’d tell you it’s as much fun as you can have with your clothes on, but we’ll let you decide!

7.27.2021….Rolling

Only a few days left until August. This summer is flying.

The fishing has been goood providing anglers the opportunity to catch em how you want. From a fly rod throwing top water to pulling streamers, to conventional tackle, the river has something to offer everybody! As our waters begin to clear and drop we will have more and more sight fishing opportunities.
